![]() ![]() If you have a choice between using Windows or macOS for a particular task, it can be difficult to say which is better. Towards the bottom of the DVD output parameters dialog, you can choose between a mini, standard and double-layer DVD, set the aspect ratio, choose sound quality and configure the framerate, When you're happy with the settings, click Convert and when the process is complete you can burn the IOS image to DVD manually. To the right, you can choose from a number of present DVDs menus, or add a custom background to create something more personal. I got that from the source of the Greasemonkey script. With Freemake Video Converter, you're not limited to simply converting a video file into a different format, you can also use the software to create DVDs from your videos.Ĭlick the to DVD button at the bottom of the screen, enter a name for your disc and choose where the ISO should be saved. I assume you could use that as a template to get timed-text for any Youtube video having captions. If it does, you should automatically have the subtitle download buttons since that's what the script is for.Įdit: Just for fun, here are the captions in "timed-text" format, not that they would do you any good without converting them to "srt" but still, it's interesting. Honestly, I've never used the Freemake downloader but I assume it should work the same.īTW, if you installed the Grease Monkey add-on and then(after installing GM) installed(by clicking the green "Install" button in the upper right corner) the captions download script, the little Grease Monkey icon should go from grayed out to active(?) when you go to the video page you linked above. Using that method I have subtitles hard-coded into the resulting DVD files. Then I used Freemake Video Convertor to open the video, add the subtitles file, and finally to convert to DVD. I then used the Greasemonkey script to download the ".srt"(subtitles) file to my desktop beside the video. I used one of the several Youtube video downloader add-ons to get the video sitting on my desktop in front of me to work with. I learned a little too, which is a good thing, I think.Īlso, I probably didn't follow your method precisely in that I did not use Freemake Video Downloader to get the video from Youtube. Truthfully, I had never tried downloading captions from Youtube until you mentioned it so. "Doing those will require that I learn more." This post was edited by bus_driver on Tue, Feb 19, 13 at 10:59 Here is a link that might be useful: Other thread ![]() I really wish the Freemake was working as it once did. The DVD drive on the computer still works well for every other purpose with which it has been tested. Some of the paid programs get very poor reviews. Reviews of similar programs leads me to believe that there is none better than Freemake, whether free or for fee. Windows 7 and Mozilla Firefox on my computer, all updated automatically. The above was just pasted here- none of it has meaning to me.ĬCleaner was used, the Freemake was uninstalled and downloaded again- 4 times. The program worked well for over a month. Played on my Onkyo Upscaling player, most looked quite good- all that I expect or need. In December, I learned of Freemake Video converter and for over a month, used it to download and burn movies from YouTube to DVD. I have never tried any of those programs on the other thread. It was tempting to add this to the other thread since parts of it seem similar. ![]()
